DORMA Interior Broschüre

The magazine DETAIL in cooperation with the world’s leading construction trade show BAU  is introducing an international architectural award in the “aesthetics and construction“ category. DORMA is involved as sponsor of the special “Interior design” award.

The Interior Design category extends across different branches of industry and is independent of typology. Conceptually integrated in the overall architecture, the interior design can have a strong influence on the architecture and represent a characteristic solution for the project. This not only applies to new buildings, but also to later interventions, reconstructions, and refurbishments of existing ones. Materials, colors, and surfaces create atmospheres and moods, rounding off the architectural aesthetics.

The prize is awarded to projects with innovative, integrated interior concepts characterized, for example, by the use of constitutive surfaces, light, and special space-creating elements. The interior design should have a decisive influence on the realization of the design idea and provide for added functionality due to extraordinary and innovative details. It should take new paths in design, construction, or material usage.

Terms and conditions of entry

The DETAIL award and the special awards are open to projects around the world that have been completed since January 1, 2006.

Bona fide architects, construction engineers, interior designers and landscape architects/artists are all eligible for entry.
